I’m watching it
through the scared winter. It’s a long
Sunday train.
Soon it will be edging down the slope
into a little town that was once
a stop for passengers.
 
The cars looked decked
out into something akin to Art Deco.
Colors and designs probably
Chicago style or by an artist like Lichtenstein.   
 
He might have marveled
at the work of train art
even copied a design or two.
There is nothing new under the sun
but on these cars, it’s all atypical.
