The day has just begun
and the temperature has risen
above its normal high for the time
of the year.

Sweat has already poured like
a glass of bad water. We’re already
ready for a break and maybe to
call it a day.

But perseverance is this thing
I’m used to. It blends into
my everyday life, and sometimes
causing me emotional issues

I stand on the right side
of existence. I’m leaning
to but not losing this battle,
but not winning either.

But the struggle comes
and the mornings are always the worst.
But on this morning, is a catch
of a better day.
