(El Yunque Rainforest)

The rainforest is a walk-through time and heat.

Whimsical birds with a lot to say parrots, green

blue and yellows fly in and out of the trees look-

for a flowers.

Puerto Rico was formed from an underground volcano

there are cavernous places for animals to take refuge.

Rope bridge find our way to the forest top

and many fossilized finds. We walk on the swinging

canopy looks through to the bottomless

expanse of pinks, and blue, oranges

and lush greens, so much the eye

cannot see. So far down to the forest

floor. There were more to see but they

hid and were stealthy in their living.
